The Counselling Centre is a special, open service provided to all undergraduate and postgraduate students of Mediterranean College, to secure their good mental health, wellbeing and personal development.
Developed to meet the increasing needs for psychological counselling and support, this service welcomes all students and invites them to explore the benefits of counselling. Trained counsellors help students comprehend their concerns and support them accordingly, enabling them to make the right decisions, choices or changes and solve their problems or achieve their academic and professional goals.
Counselling can address personal issues that usually refer to relationship and/ or identity issues, stress, anxiety, depression, family difficulties, sexual issues etc. Moreover, it can deal with problems of adjusting to a new environment, management of dilemmas or tough decision-making, as well as issues of addiction or eating disorders. Such issues, that probably have a negative effect on students’ performance, can be often resolved through a structured approach, with the assistance of the counsellors of the Centre.
The counselling service is available to all students during term-time and requires booking an appointment. Sessions last usually 50 minutes and take place in a comfortable and private environment.
