Some of our academic programmes include a compulsory, supervised placement, while in others students can individually pursue an internship. In either situation, Mediterranean College works with large companies, institutions and organisations to secure placement or internship places for all.
The scope of internships is to simulate real industry conditions and give students a valuable work experience that will enhance their CV and lay the foundation for future employment. The Career Office announces the available internship places and students are selected after a thorough appraisal process. It is part of the College’s MC Employability Scheme to widen the internship arrangements and inspire as many students as possible to participate.
Placements are, on the other hand, part of the curriculum and mandatory for all students. In that context, practice educators (supervisors) assess student performance while on placement and essentially have an impact on their academic performance and progression. Some programmes encourage students to secure their placement individually, while in others this responsibility lies with the College. No matter what, the College’s academic team adequately prepares students to go on placement, by cultivating their diligence, consistency and professionalism.
Mediterranean College sustains a wide network of associated companies and organisations which offer placement and internship positions to our students.
