The Student Excellence Conference (SEC) is an annual, inter-disciplinary event of Mediterranean College, which invites students to present their work and gives them the experience of participating in a conference-style academic meeting.
The Conference is open to students of Mediterranean College and other private or state higher education institutions and includes the presentation and discussion of contemporary issues in all academic fields offered at Mediterranean College.
Students are called to submit their paper abstracts, which are reviewed by the conference’s scientific committee. The best papers are selected and presented in the SEC, either through a presentation or a poster. The student with the best presentation is awarded with a scholarship for a postgraduate programme and this achievement is also reported in their HEAR. Being selected to present in the SEC is also considered as a distinction and, thus, all participations are commented in the students’ HEAR.
The SEC includes extra parallel sessions, such as student debates, competitions and quizzes and is attended by students, parents and employers, making it a celebratory, end-of-year event!
