Guest lectures
Aiming to put theory into practice, staff invite in-class guest lecturers, who come from different corporations or academic institutions and bring a flavor of “real” industry practices and latest research findings.
Open Lectures, Panels & Forums
The School of Engineering organises open-access events on current issues of Engineering, Production, Construction and Energy.

Seminars & Workshops
In collaboration with leading experts, companies and professionals, the School of Engineering organises specialised lab workshops and experiential seminars, linked with the different study programmes, aiming at strengthening student professional skills.
Indicative subjects: Project Management, First aid at Work, Design with Autodesk Inventor, Energy Conservation and Management.
Field Trips
The School of Engineering organises frequent field trips to industries, research laboratories and companies.
Recent visits: J&P Avax, METRO worksite, Alumil, ΤΙΤΑΝ, Traffic Management Center of Attiki Odos, Hellenic Petroleum, Testing Research & Standards Center of the Public Energy Coorporation, Elefsis Shipyards, Hellenic Aerospace Industry, Charilaos Trikoupis Rio Bridge, Sotiropoulos Geotechnics Laboratory, Ergotest concrete laboratory.
Student Competitions
Engineering School students have the opportunity to participate in different competitions organised either by Mediterranean College or other institutions. Participation can be either individual or in teams. Irrespective of the result, participation in competitions provides students with an invaluable experience and creates opportunities for networking.
Recent competitions: “Environment and Development” organized by the Technical Chamber of Greece, “Student Recycling Competition”, “Save the Egg”, “Small Car Racing Contest”, “Grid Bridge Construction”.
Conferences
Students have the opportunity to present their projects in the Annual Student Excellence Conference, organised by Mediterranean College, while final year and postgraduate students are encouraged to publish their research outputs in national or international academic conferences.
Internships
Internships are an integral part in the learning process for Engineering School students, offering different experiences and direct access to employment. Despite the fact that the Engineering programmes do not require compulsory work placement, students are encouraged to seek such opportunities and put in practice what they have learned in class, through the internship places made available by the College’s Career office.
