The MC Employability Scheme is an innovative and integrated scheme developed by Mediterranean College. By readjusting our courses and services and by organising focused activities and events, we aim to enhance our students’ employability skills and adequately prepare them for the demanding job market.
MC Employability Fair
At the annual MC Employability Fair, leading employers interview our students and graduates for covering employment or internship positions. At the same time, prominent professionals deliver open lectures and master-classes on popular industry topics. See here our partner industry network.
MC Employability Week
We dedicate one week each academic year when we organise a series of events focused on employability, such as workshops, seminars, employers’ panels, alumni success stories and start-up showcases.
Higher Education Achievement Report (HEAR)
The HEAR is issued by the UK partner University and is a single comprehensive record of the verified student’s achievement, including academic and extra-curricular activities, available to future employers and postgraduate tutors. Learn more about the HEAR.
Career Office Services
The Career Office provides students with professional career services, such as personal career counseling, CV preparation, aptitude assessment and workshops on employability skills.
CPD Courses
Through Mediterranean Professional Studies, the College’s Centre for Lifelong Learning, we offer students specialist, short courses at reduced fees.
Personal Development Planning
Personal Development Planning (PDP) is an integral part of all our undergraduate courses. Under a tutor’s supervision, students develop self-awareness on their strengths and weaknesses and design a customised path, to systematically enhance their personal and professional profile.
Forums, Open Lectures, Seminars and Conferences
We organise a variety of events that focus on contemporary scientific, social and business topics and are supported by prominent professionals, academics and governmental officials. Students who participate obtain a certificate of attendance to enhance their CV.
Guest lectures
Industry professionals are frequently invited in-class as guest lecturers, to convey their experience from the work place and link theory into practice.
Internships
Our industry partners offer a number of internship places and voluntary posts, whereby students gain invaluable work experience before graduation.
Field trips
Field trips are part of the Mediterranean College employability scheme, whereby students visit real businesses, research centres, exhibitions and other organisations, learn about their operation and network with industry professionals.
Student Competitions
Mediterranean College encourages students to participate in national or international competitions around their field (e.g. innovation, entrepreneurship, etc) or in competitions that the College itself organises, in order to promote student skills, creativity and originality.
Student Research
Mediterranean College encourages students to develop scholarly activity by participating in academic conferences. With their tutors’ guidance, our students are admitted to conferences to present their papers and gain exposure and valuable experience. The College organises its own Student Excellence Conference, an inter-disciplinary event where best student projects and papers are presented before other students, staff and employers.
